An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
